Zach Black Makes Self-Titled Original Music Debut at Hotel Vegas

Zach Black officially launched his full-band original music project under the Zach Black name with a high-energy debut showcase at Hotel Vegas, one of Austin’s coolest and most beloved live music venues.

The show marked a major new chapter for the Austin rock frontman, who has performed at Hotel Vegas many times over the years. This night, however, carried a different kind of weight. Rather than stepping onstage for a cover set or tribute performance, Zach brought his own original music to life with a full band behind him.

Sharing the bill with local favorites Los Alcos and Novus Rose, Zach delivered a set that blended brand-new material, select covers, and revived songs from his previous project, Souls Extolled. The performance featured the debut of four new original songs, along with two Souls Extolled songs brought back to the stage under the Zach Black banner.

Backed by a powerhouse group of Austin musicians — Dave North, Dillon Murray, and Jackson Pobe — the set hit with the force, attitude, and stage presence that have become central to Zach’s live performances. From the first song to the final moments, the night felt less like a trial run and more like the arrival of a fully realized new era.

The show also carried a personal, celebratory energy, with the night doubling as Alex Alco’s birthday celebration. Zach fulfilled a long time tradition joining Los Alcos onstage to rap a few verses to their song “Super Deluxe,” adding another unforgettable moment to an already epic night.

Still, the biggest story was clear: the Zach Black original music showcase has officially launched. With new songs now in motion, Souls Extolled material revived, and a full-band sound built for Austin rock rooms, Zach Black is stepping into a new chapter with serious momentum.

The original music is here. The band is locked in. And the Zach Black era is officially underway.
